Is it possible to speed up the DBS checking process

Explain why uCheck cannot speed up vetting once with DBS/police, and when applicants or uCheck can pursue escalations at specific stages.

Once uCheck submits an application to the DBS:

  • uCheck cannot control or speed up the vetting process

The vetting is done by:

  • The DBS

  • Local and national police forces

uCheck can:

  • Raise escalations when certain conditions are met (e.g. Stage 4 for 60 days)

The applicant can:

  • Contact their local police force directly to chase progress

  • Contact the DBS for hardship escalation or Stage 5 delays

Outside these rules, there is no way to legitimately force a faster turnaround. Ensuring the application is complete and accurate from the start is the best way to avoid avoidable delays.
