Stage 4 is when the application is with the local police for checks.
If an application has remained at Stage 4 for 60 days:
uCheck can raise an escalation with the DBS.
After the first escalation:
uCheck can then only escalate again every 10 working days.
In addition:
The applicant can contact their local police force directly to chase progress.
The applicant can do this as often as they wish.
If an applicant is experiencing hardship due to the extended turnaround times, they can contact the DBS directly on 03000 200 190 and select option 2 followed by option 2 again to see if there is any further action they can take.
