Not every role can have every level of DBS Check.
Standard and Enhanced checks each have specific legal eligibility criteria.
These criteria depend on:
The type of work
The workforce (adults, children, or both)
The setting (for example, schools, care homes, regulated activity)
If a role does not meet the legal requirements for a particular level:
You cannot request that level of check for that role.
This means:
You must always assess the role first,
Then choose the highest level of DBS Check that the law allows for that role.
