How an Applicant Tracks Their DBS Application

To track a DBS application, the applicant must have:

  • Their unique DBS reference number (also called the DBS E‑code)

  • Their date of birth

The DBS reference number:

  • Starts with “E0”

  • Is provided by the employer (via the uCheck platform)

Steps for the Applicant

  1. Get the DBS reference number (E0…) from the employer.

  2. Go to the DBS tracking link provided in the guidance.

  3. Enter:

    • The DBS reference number

    • The date of birth

  4. View the current stage and dates for the application.
