What the Electronic Identity Check in uCheck Does

Learn what uCheck’s electronic Identity Check does, which secure data sources it uses for extra fraud and risk assurance, and why it cannot replace the official DBS ID check requirements.

Written by Ben Nicholas

The electronic Identity Check offered through the uCheck system is an additional identity verification tool.

It:

  • Cross‑references the applicant’s personal details against secure data sources, such as:

    • Credit reference data

    • Electoral roll information

    • Utility records

  • Adds an extra layer of assurance for:

    • Employment risk assessment

    • Fraud prevention

However, this electronic Identity Check does not fulfil DBS ID Checking Guidance requirements.
