How to Enter Your Current and Previous Addresses on a DBS Application

Follow these steps as a starting point, in line with DBS guidance:

  1. Enter your current address first.

    • This is the address the DBS will use to write to you and send your DBS certificate.

  2. Ensure your current address is complete.

    • Include all required fields (building number/name, street, town, postcode, etc.).

    • The county field is optional.

  3. Add all other addresses from the last five years.

    • Work backwards in time from your current address.

    • Make sure dates link up with no gaps.

  4. Provide month and year for each address.

    • Record when you moved in (month/year).

    • Record when you moved out (month/year).
