How You Should Respond to a DBS Query

Learn how to respond fully and accurately to a DBS query email via uCheck so your reply can be sent to DBS without delays to the application.

Written by Ben Nicholas

When you receive a query email:

  1. Read the query carefully.

    • Identify each point or question the DBS has raised.

  2. Gather accurate information.

    • Speak to the applicant if needed.

    • Check internal records, job descriptions, or ID documents where relevant.

  3. Reply to uCheck by email with:

    • Full answers to every part of the query.

    • Clear explanations where corrections or clarifications are needed.

Why a complete response is important

If your response is incomplete:

  • uCheck will return your reply to you and ask for the missing information.

  • uCheck will not send the response to the DBS until all parts of the query are answered.

  • This will cause further delays to the application.

To avoid delays, always:

  • Double-check that you have answered every question in the query email.
